How do you remove wax at rochdale ear cleaning?
The simple answer is microsuction.
Microsuction uses a microscope to view your ear canal and a small 'hoover' to essentially suck out the ear wax, making it a safe and gentle procedure. It is the preferred method of wax removal, especially when faced with issues such as a perforated ear drum.
In some cases, irrigation may be considered. This will be dependent on what is deemed best for your ear.
What to expect on the day?

I will first begin to understand the problems and issues you are experiencing and then explain the procedure.

I will then examine your outer ear including the ear canal and ear drum if this is visible.
I will then use the probe to 'vacuum' the wax from your ear canal. This is a sensitive procedure and can take anything from a couple of minutes to half an hour. If I deem it necessary, I may have to book another visit to complete the removal. In the case of irrigation, I will use warm water to flush the wax out of your ear.

Finally, I will use the microscope again to check the health of your ears. If I find anything unexpected, I may have to write a referral to your GP.
